Flemish style sour ale initially brewed as our quad, aged for two years in second generation red wine barrels that previously held Jaspers. Blended then steeped with Montmorency sour cherries and bottle conditioned with Belgian candi sugar, Oud 15 represents the culmination of 15 years of brewing, and is worthy of the commemoration.

Bottle @ The HUGE Tasting. The pour’s deep brown with a tiny head. The nose is strong condensed red berry juice. Tannic woody funk. Pennies. The taste is flush with raisin meat. Some cran-raspberry juice. Dark fruit compote. Shredded coconut. Slightly hot on the finish. Full body, oily. Nice.

Bottle share at Hampton Inn pre-DLD party. Pour is brown with some ruby highlighting around the edges. Aroma is of dark fruits, cherries, earth, wood, and a touch of vinegar. Flavor is similar with the cherry at first and the earth/spice/vinegar in the finish.

Bottle shared at the Friday mega tasting, big thanks to Bruce, 03/01/14. Murky chestnut brown with moderate beige heading. Nose is tarte dark berries, funk, woody notes, cobwebs, cherry skins. Taste comprises dank woody notes, strawberry liqourice, sweet berry notes, dank wood, cherry skins, sweet undertones, light acidic qualities. Medium bodied, fine carbonation lending towards a tarte dry finale. Nice Flemish, did not detect double digit ABV in this number! Good complex offering.

Mega Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Bruce for this one. Clear deep red - brown beer, little bubbly tan head. Light palate, crisp and airy. A pleasant level of Flemish sourness with a sweetish counterpoint following on. Underneath nice ripe cherry. Light finish. No idea this had such a big abv, so it’s well hidden.

Bottle at the big ass tasting. Cheers to the hostest with the mostest Brucio. Pours clear dark brown with a small lightly tanned head on top. Nose is full of dates and currants, some mild spice - cinnamon forward, brown sugar and a touch of lemon rind. Taste is lemon tang, blood orange, pithy zest, tarty, slick toffee, brown sugar, marmalade forward. Nice balanced dose of funk and it is full of stewy type berries. Alcohol is hidden masterfully. Very nice
