murky red sepia, thin cream ring oily. Light acetic tea, cherry, and barrel, dry with no vanilla sweetness, moderate lime. Flavor is moderate brown sugar, moderate acetic, light cherry and more lactic with considerable brett all over. Wish for more marriage, a shotgun of a sour beer, the thin but well carbonated.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750mL from a trade. Pours a deep brown, weaker foam. Nose is less acetic impending than The Jaspers. Still, there is balsamic, cranberry, red wine, saltwater, and red fruits/cherries. Taste is salty, minerally, nice lactic and citric mix. Not really acetic is surprising. Palate has some cinnamon bread balance.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle
Thanks to wnoble for sharing this gem. It has been a while since I tried anything from Bullfrog. Whenever this came out they were still on their A game. A monster of a beer has not only depth but also evidence of being more than just a kitchen sink beer with everything thrown into it. Bottle 193 of 506 was a winner.
Aroma / Appearance - The rosy red base has an almond hue that lingers like a dying sunset. Chestnuts, cherry pits, dark malts, and chocolate brownies are as much sour as heavy and boozy. This has no subtlety about its richness.
Flavor / Palate - Cherries, chocolate, and a boozy bite hit the tongue immediately. Next comes more chocolate and plums before a sour tang wipes it all away on the throat. This is a decent but heavy beer that is either the last thing you should drink at a tasting or its own event.
