3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
In short: An ordinary Belgian blonde ale with only very light farmhouse notes. Meh.
How: Growler shared at RBSG 2011 grand tasting
The look: Almost clear blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose has only light farmhouse notes and it is mostly fruity yeast esters including bananas and others. Taste is fresh and overripe fruits, a bit spicy, white bread, bubble gum. Overall, not much of a Saison, just another fruity Belgian blonde ale, and a bland one at that. Another beer I didn’t really need to drink but I drank it anyway. And I’ll keep drinking more and more beer until something good happens out of it, or I learn to make better decisions.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draft at Capones. Pours a semi clear light golden yellow copper color with a frosty medium sized white head. Aroma of faint peppery notes, earthy hints, light spice and musty notes. Taste is much the same as the aroma.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold body with a one finger fizzy white head that left minimal lacing. The nose is earthy and spicy with some light farmhouse yeastiness. The flavor is a little too spiced for my tastes, making it almost a little perfume like. The spice do make for a certain crispness as well, where I prefer more of a soft subtle and earthy Saison. Mouthfeel is fizzy and spritzy with a slightly sticky spicy finish. Overall, not a bad beer, but not my preferred take on the style.

On tap @ Bullfrog. With Andy PJ and James. Sweet and airy for a saison; drinkable. Decent beer, would definitely try again (had as part of a flight today).
