On tap at the brewpub 6/8/08: Pours an opaque black with a spotty-lacing creamy dark tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and chocolate malts with some roasty notes. Body starts with about average fullness for the style and a nice dark malty sweetness with a touch of molasses. Finishes smooth and sweet with a touch of roasty coffee. A nice stout.

On tap. Dark brown, lasting cream head. Roast grain and cocoa in the nose, slight cookie dough. More roast in the flavor, a little more bitter, more chocolate and minor earthy hop, very minor. Thin body with some roast and licorice tailing.

On draft at the brewpub. Looks like Guinness. Pours a black colour with creamy beige head. Head coats the glass and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma of lightly roasted malts with a hint of chocolate. Flavour is light like the aroma with a bit of coffee like flavoring thrown in. Watery.

Dark and thin body. Aroma is a bit weak also with some heavy bitter roast. Taste is dark cocoa and bitter coffee and still thin. I expected more from BF.

Draft at BF Brewpub. Pours a dark dark brown, practically black body. Small brown head. The aroma is very light - slight roastiness. Good lacing noticeable on the side of the glass. The palate is a bit watery, not as much flavor as I would’ve preferred.

Tap at brewpub. Pours a deep dark ruby amber-brown almost black with a nice lasting shiny orange head. Nutty and toasty aroma with hints of dark chocolate coffee, and a slight earthy kick. Coffee and chocolate flavor with and earthy spicy kick- a bit grassy and green with hops although not overpowering. Pretty smooth- solid stout.

Smokey aroma with a chocolate colored head. Bit smokey with malt and milk chocolate flavor. Light roast coffee mixed in the aftertaste. Creamy and smooth in the mouth. Enjoyable stout.
