Bubbly red body with a thin white head. Light acetone in the nose, some chocolate and a red-wine that will make you guess this has several varieties of berry in it. The flavor drops the heavy alcohol presence, the oak and wine elements working quite well in tandem as the soft, integrated flavor delivers traditional Bullfrog funk with a considerable sweetness. I would like to see less alcohol in the nose, but quite enjoyable if only for the incredible use of red-wine barrels.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Cloudy caramel ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Fruity, malty, funky and acidic notes in the bouquet – cherries and caramel stand out. Medium to full-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Tart, but not quite sour. Fruity, but not in an overbearing manner. A tad funky. Tangy, fruity, fairly dry finish. Thanks to Beerlando for sharing this world class beer!

Bottle at Maltzillas World Cup 2010 tasting. Pours cloudy brownish color with off white head. Aromas of sour cherries and oak. Flavors of tart cherries, vinegar and wood. Meium body with moderate carbonation. Very nice. Thanks Diego.

BCTC 2010, courtesy of Frylock I believe. Thanks Jacob. copper, amber, orange pour. Agressively funky aroma, sour cherries, red wine, oak, musty. Full flavor of what aroma indicated was coming. Real nice Bullfrog!!!

Murky Rust pour with a slight offwhite head. Aroma is sour cherry, acetic acid, some funky leather and a bit of light light horsiness. Mouthfeel is medium and a bit prickly from carbonation. Flavor is nicely soured, acetic, a bti funky, mostly cherry fruit and skins. A really nice flemish red.

Sample thanks to Madvike!! Clear light brown pour, very little carbonation and fruity sour cherry nose. Flavor is sour cherry, decent amount funk and mildly sour with a woody and very dry finish.

Bottle shared at Paul’s Thanksgiving tasting. Pours orange brown with a thin head. Funky bretty aroma, with some woody and cherry notes. Nice tart bretty flavor with some slightly sweet cherry notes, wood, and a light acidity. Tastey.

750 ml courtesy of TheEpeeist. Bottle 93 of 378. Pours a murly ruby brown pour, well hazed and glowing edges. A decent bright whitish head that dies to a ring, laces small, spotty. Aromas are rich fruit punch, sour cherries and raspberries, touches of mellow sweet malts with lactic acid. Touches of vinegar, wet oak. Rich and sour. Initial is mellow modied, moderate sour cherries, light funk, touches of vinegaratte. Lactic acid, rich caramel and bready malts, touches of biscuits with lingering sour cherries, touches of lactic acid. Not too over the top, highly drinkable with enough vinegar and acidity to make you know it’s a sour, a damn good sour at that, but balanced enough that high acidity doesn’t get in the way. Bullfrog sours are hit and miss.. But this is a definite hit for them in my book.

sample at sour tasting. slightly darker brown then a normal sour. Flavors seemed blended together well, maybe cherry is standing out a bit. A definite sour, needed a bit more flavor in my opinion.

Gathering at Paul’s house. The aroma is sour, fruit, cherries mainly. The appearance is hazy red/brown, off-white head. The flavor is sour, tart cherries, oter fruits, very nice. The finish is agian vinegar like, tart fruit. Medium in body. Very, very good.
