2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - OCT 12, 2011
Tasted this at the Paisley Beer Festival in April 1991. Cask, gravity dispense. So looking forward to trying this but may have been put on too soon. Hazy gold amber in colour with very little head if any. Slight whiff of boiled eggs in the short chemical aroma. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malts give a digestive biscuit base with hints of watery caramel, golden syrup and ripe honeydew melon. Tangy citric notes of hop resins in the aftertaste. Poor weak finish with barley sugar notes evident. Need to rate this again at some point for a proper evaluation.
