When I first started drinking I loved cider, especially Scrumpy Jack. However, I really lost the enthusiasm for these brews. This was a unique item, as it’s hard to come by different Irish brews. It’s mostly the standards, so this was unusual. Here’s the bad news, it didn’t set itself apart from the pack in any way. It’s got that classic tart apple, somewhat vinuous aroma, a slight bit of that yeasty champagne quality. It’s appearance is that clean golden color, with almost no head persay. Not much to look at. It’s taste, nothing unusual, a sour, cider flavour with a bit of acidic sting. The feel is rather normal as well, thin bodied, light on texture, abrupt in finish, and moderately high on carbonation. Nothing special, super forgettable. Snooze-fest.

Bah, behoorlijk vies, kinderappelsap, ziet er niet uit. Wellicht minuscuul beter op een warme zomerdag.

Pours a clear golden colour with hardly a head to speak of. Aroma of apples, more apples, and apple juice. Now I generally like apple juice just fine, so alcoholic apple juice is even better. But I’m in this for the beer, and as a beer, this leaves much to be desired. I shall try some other ciders to see if the style just doesn’t appeal to me.

I got into cider in a big way this summer and this was one of my favorites. It is not too sweet and not too sour.

Ricordo quando in Irlanda tutte le giovani si bevevano litri e litri di sidro, ora a distanza di anni lo ritrovato e me lo assaggio pure io. Non è malaccio, mi ricorda quasi il moscato piemontese...
