I agree with HogTownHarry. This is a perfectly decent over ice cider. I found the taste to be fresh and crisp with a slight after taste of apples.

bottled. pale golden yellow. pretty fizzy, sweet, the slightest promise of some interesting tartness but it never gets there

Bottle (568ml) At Calthorpe Arms, Grays Inn Road, London. I guess I don’t know ciders - all these low scores, I thought this was pretty decent. Bubbly light gold with a nice little white head. Aroma of slightly tart, dry apple and a hint of off-dry white wine. Taste - same - not too sweet or cloyingly apple - tart and dry. It’s a tad watery, a little sticky on the palate, well-carbonated with a hint of acidity and no awful aftertaste - just thirst-quenching.

Bottled. Pale golden, brief head. Sweet red apple aroma.Sweet with clean mouthfeel. Evident but simple flavour of overripe apples. Light bodied and light flavoured. Dull and lifeless.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2009 Bottle@SomePub, Jul 09, 2.5: Apple and some yeast in the aroma. Golden colour, no head. Apple, sweet, hint of yeast, some butter. Flat, sticky, cloying, easy going. Bottle@MarketPorter, Aug 07, 2.3: Fermented apples aroma. Clear, yellow color, white head, fair lace. Tastes like watered down apple extract that has fermented a little. Very easy drinking but lacks any character.

568 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. In addition to apple juice, ingredients include "glucose syrup, water, sugar, carbon dioxide, acid: E296, antioxidant: E224 (sulphites), colour: E120". Recommended to "serve over ice". In other words: this is an industrial cider. Pours fizzy with a large white head that actually stays around a while (probably designed to make people think you are drinking lager). Strange aroma of rotting and fermenting apples + some undefined and unpleasant chemical stuff. The flavour is fairly sweet and synthetic with very little to write home about. Pretty bad.

A Mes rate: Bottle in some crappy pub but let’s face it you don’t care where. Not quite as awful as Magners. Dusty finish. Boring sweet-ish cider.

On tap at Bijou, Dublin. Cider with a very appley taste. Very similar to Magners. Quite sweet cider.

[Bottles from not sure, don’t remember drinking it] Sweet sugary apples, aggressive carbonation, I found this rather unpleasant.
