Bland example, little in the way of apples on the nose, sweet palate with a hint of fruit, finish is minimal. Actually bought for cooking....it was cheap!

The same curious pinkish-golden colour of its rival Magners. Very little aroma. Would you know this was supposed to be a cider? Not really. It isn’t sweet like Magners. It has no sourness or bitterness. It tastes like a diluted fizzy soft drink. Very easy drinking for the crowd who enjoy Sirrus and Magners.

[Bottles from not sure, don’t remember drinking it] Sweet sugary apples, aggressive carbonation, I found this rather unpleasant.

Bottle. Light amber in color. Very flowery and fruity smell of apples. Very sweet but flat taste. Loads of carbonation.

Bottle 50 cl. Clear golden with a white head. Green Apple aroma taste, mistake, I don’t like cider

[Bottle at the Corn Stores, Reading] Hmmm, nice sunny day? Think I’ll try a cider, how about some of this fancy new Bulmers-pour-it-over-ice stuff that all the kids seem to be drinking these days. Oh dear - it pours flat, limp, lifeless; it looks like econony apple juice (ie like the urine sample of someone who’s been lost in the desert for 3 days). Smells like economy apple juice. Tastes like it too - doesn’t seem to be alcoholic in the slightest, in fact it’s rather watery. Oh, hang about - now there’s rotten apples coming through, maybe it’s made with the apples that even the economy apple juice makers turned down. Overly sweet and syrupy. Aftertaste has hints of vomit and medicine. This is pretty grim stuff, perhaps I didn’t have enough ice to mask the flavour. Oddly, I got an alcohol hit about an hour after I finished drinking it. c5

568 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. In addition to apple juice, ingredients include "glucose syrup, water, sugar, carbon dioxide, acid: E296, antioxidant: E224 (sulphites), colour: E120". Recommended to "serve over ice". In other words: this is an industrial cider. Pours fizzy with a large white head that actually stays around a while (probably designed to make people think you are drinking lager). Strange aroma of rotting and fermenting apples + some undefined and unpleasant chemical stuff. The flavour is fairly sweet and synthetic with very little to write home about. Pretty bad.

Bottle from LCBO. Starts off OK, but before I was 1/4 way in it became almost nauseatingly sweet. There’s better ciders.

This is the kind of shit that made me never give ciders a chance, until I stumbled upon some good ones. Pours like a ginger-ale, clear golden withbig gassy bubbles and a fizzy, rapidly vanishing head. Aroma is sweet syrup with barely a hint of applejuice. Sugary, syrupy sweet, apples as an afterthought. Drainpour.
