Aroma of honey combind some floral notes. Pours a clear amber. The flavor is sweet with hints of floral. Overall, while very sweet, this is enjoyable after dinner. Nice.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle. Bunratty! Ha. County Clare has loads of charm. Pours a clear amber color with some shades of darker colors, some sticky legs. Sweet floral notes. The flavor grew on me as it inebriates quickly: toffee, huge flowers and herbal flavor, some sticky sweet honey. Dandelions. Fairly drinkable despite being quite hot with heat and alcohol present. 3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark amber with no head. Smells of sticky honey, brown sugar, strong alcohol and saffron. Full oily body. Warming effect. Sweet taste of honey, sugar, with a herbal note and a lightly bitter alcohol finish. Nice sweet mead but the alcohol is noticeable. Enjoyable. Maybe aged would lower the alcohol.

50cl bottle at home from Celtic whiskies, Dublin
Pale golden with Greek honey yoghurt aroma. V sweet a honeyed ice cider. Light bodied, hidden booze, just v sweet desert wine like with some earthy herbal notes at the back and long sweet finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
First time tasting Mead, so not much to compare this to. Pours clear copper, no head. Aromas of honey, floral, white grapes, alcohol. High, sticky sweetness. Not particularly refined, but okay as a digestif.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from State Line liquors. Pours golden with no head. Lots of spices on the nose. Tastes like white wine with the odd spice thrown in. Solid but not spectacular.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is dark rum, honey and brandy. Pours clear bronze with no carbonation whatsoever. Taste is very light with honey, rum, and cane sugar. Absolutely no sign of the 14.7% making this dangerously easy to drink. Would definitely use this as an introduction to mead.

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle from state line liquors - why do they do this?????? Mead is my current favorite style and I had high hopes for this one which were not met to say the least. It pours a clear amber, still, except for the occasional tears of disappointment. Aroma is medicinal, like cough syrup, or I should say my cough syrup is more mead-like than this pour excuse for a pyment melomel. Taste is sweet with that astringent medicinal alcoholic burn as it begrudging goes down my throat. The palate vanishes, like Casper, leaving behind hate and disappointment. Why, why, release this swill commercially? Overall, I’m left with the feeling that I’ve just drunk a bottle of tainted mouth wash. Please, please let it be recalled!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I can’t remember where they drove me. I was forced into this. Loaded up the night before & thrown in the back of a car headed north. Woke up, & I’m dressed as a gay pirate. My chest hairs exposed, I was feeling quite vulnerable.
Served at the Renaissance Fair in a proper period clear plastic cup.
Pours a vibrant, rich amber brown color. Still.
Smells of honey & glue. Whiskey, with a bit of stale potpourri.
Taste was surprisingly decent. Solid enough to do shots of anyway. Lush citrus honey & caramel. Wood & big white wine acidity. Just bitter enough to cover. Nothing obviously herbal in this batch.
Syrupy, maybe even buttery, but not all that thick. Dangerously quiet alcohol.
$14 for a smoked turkey leg? F that! I wonder how they made funnel cakes in the 15th century...
