Welcomed to Knappogue Castle with a glass of this elixor. There was a striong aroma of honey and potcheen. The drink was sweet and smooth, the flavor dripping with honey with an alcohol bite.

Clear golden color. Aroma honey and flowers. Syrupy body with a little acidity and a tad alcoholic. Flavor is just like it smells, quite sweet but not so sweet as to prevent continued drinking. What can I say, I love honey and this is like drinking honey is a good way.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 odinstyr (178) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 19, 2012
Pours a clear gold. Smells of honey, slightly of some floral or herb. Taste is primarily of honey, kind of like a candied white wine.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 HerrBier (14) - Richardson, Texas, USA - JAN 31, 2012
If you drink this one cold, you probably will not like it. This is a mead that must be drunk warm or even hot. Its flavour really grew on me. However, I cannot stand it cold. All of its flavours get muddled and skunky.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 GT2 (3953) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 14, 2011
Bottle at Fermentation Lounge. Rating #100 for this mead! Pour is a light viscosity amber, clear, watery like a shot of rum. Legs are thin and closely spaced with quick cascade. No honey viscosity. Nose is pretty much watered down shot of Captain Morgan. Taste follows suit. Not good- very mild honey character as an afterthought. Better to just drink Captain Morgan.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 markwise (2914) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - OCT 24, 2011
Poured at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. Pours a still caramel gold color. Very pretty. Nose is deep earthy honey with bits of plum, and hints of fruit along with bits of booze. Flavor is similar- fruity honey with plums and dates and bits of booze. Finish is a bit boozy with a syrupy mouthfeel. Interesting mead; I am surprised it isn’t corked.

The tiniest little hilarious glass at Fiddler’s in Broke Bend. My first mead, and kind of what I expected. A nice floral, spicy aroma. Plenty of legs. Sweet, yes, but not too much. Solid depth of flavor. This was delicious for dessert. Mead intrigues me, and this was a good jumping off point. Now I just need to run up to Kuhnhenn sometime.

Golden whiskey colour, honey and apple aroma. Syrupy sweet flavour, definite honey. Warming sensation, sticks to the roof of the mouth - very nice.

(750ml bottle thanks to Cavie) clear rich orange with awesome legs. Nose of white wine grapes, honey, and herbs. Taste of sweet honey, thyme, sage, and a bit of tea. Really like how this tastes. Delicious linger, alcohol but well integrated. Nice.
