COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special - May 2010 (Single Hop Series).
Grown in 2008 as a trial to assess the benefits of using hop oils as an organic disinfectant (no, really - the main reason hops became popular with brewers was their ability to greatly extend the shelf life of the beer). Some of the surplus harvest was released to the brewing trade, and initial results have shown some promise for brewing, though it may not became a regular variety. Our 2009 Christmas beer used this hop, and we saw hints of black cherries and marmalade in the flavour profile

Cask conditioned Gravity dispense Northants BF 2010. A clear orange coloured beer with no head. Slightly sticky marmaladey fruity hoppiness in the nose leads to citrussy fruits in the mouth. Sweet oranges. It’s OK but it’s perhaps not the friendliest hop.
