COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION Cask; Special - January/February 2011 (Single Hop Series). Fuggle (or Fuggles) is possibly the best known English hop variety, and dates as a variety from 1875 when it was ’developed’ by Mr Richard Fuggle, a hop grower from Kent. Once the mainstay of British Brewing, it is now outclassed commercially by more modern varieties, and whilst still popular with smaller breweries, it is a declining variety in terms of volumes grown each year, and may well be at risk of disappearing in years to come.
