COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Occasional.
A dark bitter?  A hoppy porter?  Does it really matter?  Night Owl is dark, fruity, and moreish. Brewed with a blend of pale & coloured malts, with Bramling Cross (English) & Cascade (USA) hops.

Cask@The Magpie&Crown, Brentford, WLondon. Black colour, brown edges. Aroma is earthy and a little fishy. Don’t actually get too much out of the aroma. This doesn’t really taste that dark. Has some some light sweet caramel and then a minty menthol character, then a fishy character and then some chunder. Didn’t like this so much.

Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAR 3, 2009
Cask at Battersea Beer Festival, 13th Feb 2009. Deep dark brown appearance. Chocolate & treacle nose, quite dry and tart on the tongue. Quite thin, closer to a mild than a stout porter, but good and drinkable.

StueyD (661) - Heacham, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, ENGLAND - OCT 28, 2006
A dark, chocolate brown beer with reddish tints and a thick beige head. A light nose, with some hop and a biscuity malt aroma. The taste is bitter, with plenty of dry hops that really overpowers. There is some smokiness towards the end. The finish is very dry. (Cask - The Fox & Hounds, Heacham, Norfolk).

Cask @ Wenlock Arms, London. Pours a black colour with a tan head. Fruity hoppy aroma. Fruity malty and slightly hoppy flavor. Has a malty and hoppy, bitter aftertaste.

A Mes rate: St. Albans Beer Festival 2006. Quite unusual. Seems to be having an indentity crisis. Slightly smokey and just a little too mellow all round for me. I like my porters to have a little more guts than this. More hoppy than most and a rather bitter finish. Let down mre than anything by the thin mouthfeel
