Cask - Blacksmiths Arms (St Albans). - yellow orange-zest with malty sugar aftertaste. Orange peel middle, becomes more bitter over the taste horizon, short finish with a hoppy conclusion. Best with a BLT sandwich. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPad

Cask at the Kingston Arms, Cambridge. This is a pale yellowish bitter, quite light and easy drinking with a bit of hop bitterness. Nice enough, nothing special.

Cask at The Boot, Sarratt, Herts. An amber/gold coloured pour with a medium white fluffy head. Mild malty aroma. Tastes fruity, slightly sweet, malty. Rather thin and bland for my liking.

Cask, gravity, at Luton Beer Festival ’11. Copper gold with a small white head. Intense sweet honey and golden syrup aroma. Burnt piecrust taste with a sharp bitter finish. Notes promise a ’citrus nudge’, but I didn’t get it. Liked this.

Cask, gravity dispensed, at the Kingston Arms, Cambridge. Poured pale gold with a thin white head; grapefruit aroma; grapefruit flavour with some slightly chewy sweet malts giving body; sharp clean grapefruit finish with biscuity undertones. A pleasant hop-led beer.

Cask conditioned Gravity dispense Northants BF 2010. A golden coloured beer with a white ring of bubbles. Some diacetyl in the nose with Everton toffee. Fruity and sweet in the mouth. A little chewy. Tasty enough but it’s quite different for Buntingford with the promised citrus not really showing itself.
