Pours lightly hazy orange with a small, creamy, white film head. Aroma is kinda yeasty and vinious. Light dried fruits. Fat mouthfeel, low carbonation. Caramel, vinousness and lots of alcohol in the flavour. A touch of yeast, but the alcohol is far too dominating. Ober (1242), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands

Hazy orange-amber color, small off-white head. Yeasty, mix of fruits, plum and candy sugar in the nose. Full-bodied. Very sweet (candy sugar) - yeasty, some dark fruits. Doesn’t show alcohol at all. A bit too sweet and one-dimensional. MiP (9162), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Bottle, 9.5%. Weak but quite sweet malt syrup aroma. Hazy red/chestnut colour. Very small head. Quite malty flavour, caramelly and sweet. Does not taste its ABV. Low carbonation, pleasant enough. A quite nice example of a malty barley wine, IMO. Good peppery aftertaste.
