Amber, clear. Creamy head, not stable. Nose with alcohol, portwine, cookies. Very sweet and alcoholic taste. Roasted malts and liqueurish. Peppery finish. Filling mouthfeel, warming, nice. An alcoholics' beer - but in the nice way. Dutch beers CAN be good.

After 3 sips I checked the label and saw it was 9,5 percent. Surprising because it doesn’t taste that way. It’s a dark golden beer, very smooth and slightly sweet. Some peach maybe and resin. Bottle from Burg itself.

Pours a slightly clouded amber beer with chunks. Smells like caramel, oranges and ginger. The palate is somewhat flat but the texture is creamy. Taste is bitterspicy with some alcoholsweetness, ripe banana, caramel, citrus and orange. Aftertaste is sweet-sour with citrus and a little hops. The best of all the Burg beers I’ve had, although the aging might have to do something with it...
