Can. Corn syrup and barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with large head. Mildly sweet very light barley malt flavor. Light body. Disappointing - not even as good as most macro light beers.

Can: courtesy Shrubber. Pours clear, medium gold, with a tall white head. Scent is grain malt. Taste is slightly tangy grain, water. Extremely light, yet a decent strength in flavour. Truly, not that bad.

12oz can - pours like a typical lager. Nose is grain and cardboard. Flavor adds a tiny bit of hops. Taste is minimal and Spain just scored, drat. Not as tasty as the full flavor version.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2012 Poured a yellow-gold with an intially nice frothy head that faded quickly to minimal lacing that eventually went away entirely. Aroma was sweet - mainly of malt mixed with corn. Taste was of sweet malt which moved into a slight corn favoring and finishing off with a very light hop bitterness. Palate was fairly decent for light beer. Overall, I thought this was fairly decent for a cheap ($5.99/ 12 pk) light brew. I did note that it seemed to taste similar to LaCrosse City Lager which is also brewed at the City Brewery. Perhaps a slight difference in its formulation.

12 oz. can shared by shigadeyo. This is one of those beers I had to try when it was re-released. Pours a clear light golden color with a small white head. The aroma is grainy malts and light citrus. The flavor is bready/grainy malts and light citrus, watery. This is the kind of beer for people that just like to drink but not the negatives of being drunk. It is better than the Burger Classic.

can. Pale gold crystal clear body. More yellow than gold really. Descent white head that actually left some lace. Not much on the aroma except pale malt. Not much corn though, which shines thorugh in many pale lagers. Flavor is very inoffensive and poundable. Could drink this like water. There is also a descent hop presence in there. Best body of any pale lager I have had yet to date -- i.e. not super overly carbonated. Very light smooth body with medium low carbonation. Overall: very sessionable easy drinker. Not much character, but better than most lights.

I would prefer this light beer over almost any in its style. Has a nice smooth finish, perfect after a long day in the sun.

Can from shigadeyo. Poured clear pale color with a minimal frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sweet grainy aroma. Light to medium body with a thin texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

6/28/2009: Bürger Light is lighter, softer, smoother, and slightly sweeter than the regular Bürger Classic. I actually like it better too.

12 fl. oz. can from 12-pack purchased at Jungle Jim’s International Market in Fairfield, Ohio. Rating #21 for this beer.
