COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A light reduced calorie American-style lager brewed to be extra smooth and refreshing. Fully Krausened (naturally carbonated). We use only select 6-row pale and Black malts along with Chinook, Nugget and Tettnang hops to brew this regional favorite. 12oz can into a pint glass. Pours a clear straw yellow with a one finger white head. Surprisingly good head retention for this style of beer but the lacing is a bit lacking. Aroma is very metallic with notes of corn and cooked vegetables. A tiny bit of spicy hops is detectable in the background. Creamed corn flavor with more vegetable. A touch of bread and hay along with a brief whiff of wet grass. Light bitterness with a slightly sweet finish. Mouthfeel is a bit chalky. Overall, this is a budget beer and it shows but in saying that, it is not bad for what it is. I would take this over the big 3 any day.

12oz can, $3 from Moerlein Lager House. Code on can reads "0743 2103". Clear yellow color. Little off-white head. Some loose bits of lace. Fine, stringy particles in the body, looks like dust. Stronger, pronounced, kind of rough carbonation. More dry finish. Very light flavor, but what’s there is not good. Corn, metallic, macro-type flavor. Mild sweet, moderate bitter taste, with a lingering bite. Light acidic. Can looks almost identical to a Busch Light. Sub par

Can. Pours a really light yellow with a white head. Aroma is metallic and grainy. Some white bread comes through in the taste and finish.

Can. Corn syrup and barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with large head. Mildly sweet very light barley malt flavor. Light body. Disappointing - not even as good as most macro light beers.

Can: courtesy Shrubber. Pours clear, medium gold, with a tall white head. Scent is grain malt. Taste is slightly tangy grain, water. Extremely light, yet a decent strength in flavour. Truly, not that bad.

12oz can - pours like a typical lager. Nose is grain and cardboard. Flavor adds a tiny bit of hops. Taste is minimal and Spain just scored, drat. Not as tasty as the full flavor version.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2012 Poured a yellow-gold with an intially nice frothy head that faded quickly to minimal lacing that eventually went away entirely. Aroma was sweet - mainly of malt mixed with corn. Taste was of sweet malt which moved into a slight corn favoring and finishing off with a very light hop bitterness. Palate was fairly decent for light beer. Overall, I thought this was fairly decent for a cheap ($5.99/ 12 pk) light brew. I did note that it seemed to taste similar to LaCrosse City Lager which is also brewed at the City Brewery. Perhaps a slight difference in its formulation.

12 oz. can shared by shigadeyo. This is one of those beers I had to try when it was re-released. Pours a clear light golden color with a small white head. The aroma is grainy malts and light citrus. The flavor is bready/grainy malts and light citrus, watery. This is the kind of beer for people that just like to drink but not the negatives of being drunk. It is better than the Burger Classic.

can. Pale gold crystal clear body. More yellow than gold really. Descent white head that actually left some lace. Not much on the aroma except pale malt. Not much corn though, which shines thorugh in many pale lagers. Flavor is very inoffensive and poundable. Could drink this like water. There is also a descent hop presence in there. Best body of any pale lager I have had yet to date -- i.e. not super overly carbonated. Very light smooth body with medium low carbonation. Overall: very sessionable easy drinker. Not much character, but better than most lights.
