Aromatic hop and malt nose.
Pale golden, head could be more stable.
Good balance between full malty body and a good hop presence, bready exit. Slight estery notes in the aftertaste.
Pretty prototypical export.

Designer label to fool the unknowing (like me).
Brown 500ml bottle from ’Beers of Europe’.
This was the second beer during one of my German and Lager based beer tasting evenings in Aug 2011.
The beer poured a mid-golden colour, a slightly darker export than normal, but with the usual bright white head on top.
No smell at all, gets my regular score of 3 for an odourless lager/pilsner.
This is a smooth, easy to sip beer, there is a very minor dry hoppiness towards the end of the mouthfeel, but nothing to get excited about.
A standard, common tasting lager beer that although pleasant enough isn’t a great example of what Bamberg has to offer.

Bottled. A golden beer with an off-white head. A buttery malty helles with some floral hops. Pretty bog standard but that buttery flavour and aroma really spoils and annoys.
