Bierkrug (1666) - Idar-Oberstein (In East Africa), - NOV 7, 2010
500 ml bottle in Germany. Pours a hazy orange-gold color. Foamy full white long lasting head. Aroma is earth, bread and a nice musty backround. Taste is very lite, not intense at all, and hasslightly sour maltyness to it. Palate is also weak but slightly sweet and earthy. This bier is very easy to drink, goes down very mellow. A nice smooth beer. The more you drink this the better it gets.

Grima (1572) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - NOV 10, 2011
The beer in the glass is orange-yellow with a slight red tinge and. It smells yeasty-sweet, with grainy malts. Starts very yeasty and sweet coupled with a slight fruitiness and a lot of grain in the background. The middle part is still very yeasty, the hops come through a little better. Goes into a yeasty-sweet, grainy and fruity-hoppy finish!

Bottle looks good, beer in the glass also. Fine turbid, nice head. Starts yeasty and dry, modest fruity, fine malty. Not too hoppy. Finish gets drier, almost a bit moldy, too yeasty. Starts good, but finish should be more complex and less dry.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A clear one, some microfloaties though, and a small, beige head. A bit unpleasant aroma, herbal, cellary and grainy. The flavor is mostly fruity, some caramel hints and a touch of biscuits. A bit bitterness towards the end. Medium body and smooth carbonation. A beer that drinks easy, but it’s too boring. 110415
