Bürgerbräu Bamberg Urtyp Hell : Look; good off white head and clear golden body. Aroma; malts, leafy hops, grass, fruits, yeast, basement. Taste; grass, malts, wet hops, fruity notes, chocolate notes - leading to a soft fruity finish. Normal texture and carbonation. Overall fruity, with some almost-candies hints. Dorada amarillenta ligeramente turbia. Muy poca espuma. Fina burbuja continua desde el fondo del vaso. Aroma malteado. Poco cuerpo con sabor algo aguado, marcado por la malta. Prescindible.

A clear yellow beer with medium head. Nose is on grain and cereal. Aroma is again malty, quite sweet and grassy hops.

500ml Bottle: BBD Feb 2015, poured into an old Schlossbrau stemmed tulip three times at home on 22 Aug 2014. Good clean look to the golden body, on top a full white crown. Very little nose, maybe a little metallic and corn. The beer is crisp and sharp in nature but with not a lot of taste, again metallic and corn feel to the flavour. I let my wife have some and she also mentioned a metallic twang to the beer. Not the best advert for Germany and it’s wonderful beers.

500 ml bottle served in a shaker glass. Pale canary yellow, perfectly clear, with an average, frothy bright white head, which went away very quickly. Slightly grainy aroma, light citrusy edge, mild biscuity malts, a hint of wet grass, some cardboard as well. Quite refreshing and smooth, some cardboard presence in the taste upfront, preceding a moderately bitter, malty and slightly herbal component. Some sugary sweetness in the background. Average carbonation, light to medium body, creamy texture. Not bad, not great, just plain average.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2014 500ml ; After their impressive ’Export Helles’ ive just drank -this stuff is lacking the booze of their other one also or its balls , or that brilliant use of demonstrating how to execute malt in a lager

0.5 bottle from local supermarket as "Kaiserdom Urtyp Helles". Not much of a head, light colour and light taste, as one would expect from helles. There is hint of hops, though. So this is not quite hopeless. Maybe I should have tasted this during a hot summer day and not in the middle of the winter.

Flavour is bready, a bit grainy, some grassy, hayish and quite bitter. Mild salty and toasted notes as well. Good and refreshing beer.
