2.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours clear golden yellow with somewhat resilient white head and a little lace. Aromas of grain, bread, crackers, some light herbs and a hint of malt sweetness. Light body, medium carbonation. Herbal hop character, light corn vegetable. Finishes lightly sweet, refreshing, dry with a hint of corn.

From a bottle. Pours clear with minimal head, not too bad, pretty smooth, I’d drink it again.

330ml bottle into glass. Bought some of these to give to a mechanic who helped me out (he’s on some low carb kick). God, I hate the label. Aroma is a bit metallic then nothing. Amber beer with white film, tiny carbonation. Thin mineral water mouthfeel. Slight (and I mean SLIGHT) bitter finish. Wow, this beer is ephemeral. Gives a new meaning to ’full-flavoured’.

0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Poured a clear piss-yellow with almost no head. Aroma just grain and very faint. Taste dryer than a nun’s c**t, and turned mouth to dust. Palate lively carbonated, thin, watery, moderate dry hops finish. Overhall, bleh! Give me carbs, just even a little more so that I have some flavour.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
(Bottle) Clear pale gold, no head (ironic for a beer called Bighead) and flat looking. Aroma mixes wet cardboard with grainy malt. Light body and lightly fizzy. Taste is rather sour with some slight metallic bitterness. Not good.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Very pale gold, no head but quite fizzy - looks more like soft drink. Has that big-brand pale lager nastiness to the aroma, wet dog and cardboard. Taste is watery, metallic, and vaguely beerish. Look, I appreciate that some people want a low calorie, low carb option, but this is no better than any of the bland CUB low carb beers. Just don’t.

1.4 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pretty average. Soapy, and tasteless. Just enough of a beer flavour to let you know it is still a beer. Drinkable but nothing really going on.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Love the label.
Admittedly this wasn’t as bad as I had expected but then I did epxect very little. Lively pour produces a bright, thin and translucent pale gold beer with a shortlived, fluffy and loose white head. Pale grains, dried, mown grass, eggy fart and salty crackers sum up the aroma. Soapy, watery thin and well charged in the mouth. Overall it’s very dry with a shallow vegetal sweetness upfront. Light malt, cardboard, grassy, spicy and dry hop note late and into the crisp, short swallow. Nothing but blandness here but a reasonable beer considering the taste has been lagere out of it! No carbs and this is the price you pay, when you have a carb-less beer.
not a fan, but not a clear reflection on the great beers made by the burleigh brewery
