A couple of centuries back, IPA was made strong and hoppy to protect it on those long voyages from England to India. These days, we just make it that way because it tastes great.
An intensive five-stage hopping process delivers a rich, robust character, smooth flavour and an inviting aroma. So, while it has all the mighty ‘BAM’ of the original, it’s surprisingly well balanced – a bit like our skateboarding elephant.
Five malted barley varieties, five natural hop varieties, fruity ale yeast and water.

Bottle - pours golden with a small white head, some lacing on glass. Vanilla, peach, biscuit malt and flowery hops tart smooth but straight away the bitterness bites, fruit and flowery hops comes through on the taste., there is another bite at the back of the palate which I think is down to the alcohol hit. Long lingering dry fruity finish. Mouthfeel is creamy.

Bottle 0,33l. Pours an amber colour with a fading white head that diminish and leaves no lacing. Aroma of sweet malt, biscuity and bready malt with earthy, resinous and floral hops leading to orange marmalade characters. Same for taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

4 pack from Dan’s. Was a little disappointed in this beer, had some good hop aroma, but I found the bitterness to have a harshness to it that wasn’t a pleasant drinking experience.

330ml bottle.
Pours a clear golden orange with not much head at all.
Nose is lots of fresh fruit. Pineapple, orange. mango, and also some banana. There’s also an orange candy component and a sweet caramel note.
The taste is more fresh fruit. The citrus dominates, but I’m really digging the banana notes in here from the yeast. There’s also some more tropical components (mango, pineapple) and there’s a bit of sweet caramel to back it up. But this is definitely from the west coast school of IPAs. The finish is quite dry, with a subtle hint of biscuit and a moderate grapefruit and pine bitterness.
Body is on the lighter side of medium, spot on carbonation.
A really enjoyable beer. The hops are balanced perfectly, and there’s not too much sweetness. It also just has that almost indescribable clean quality that makes it really refreshing and delicious.

Lovely floral hoppy aromas. Pours a cloudy copper colour and has nice citrus flavours. An excellent IPA that is very easy to drink.

Fresh hop aroma which is slightly duller than you might expect from a 7% IPA. Nice pale copper colour. Flavour is sweet and hoppy ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not an overly present aroma. Light golden pour. Alcohol is a bit overpowering, not the best balance. A confusing beer for me.

The name of this beer sums up the taste, fig jam. Beer pour well with great aromas the beer it self is very sweet and citrusy with lots of hops.

640mL bottle BB Oct ’13 Pale gold body, bit of haze, tight white head painting nice lace in its wake. Hops dominate the aroma; mandarin, grapefruit, lime peel - a bit different from the norm. Pale malt background; some husky grain and light toastiness. Good full palate, chewy malt texture. Plenty of weight suggests a hefty abv without warmth or fusels. Plenty of hop flavour coming through on the body; citrusy lime and mandarin and grapefruit, throw in a touch of mango too. Malt is supporting with a touch of sweet cereals and golden syrup. Bitterness perhaps a bit restrained for style, but clean and provides a nice balance. Decent length. A tasty drop. Not as aggressive as many of the style tend to be, leaning towards good drinkability and nice flavour, even at a sizeable abv.

Pours amber with a fading white head. Nose shows sweet malt, biscuity and bready malt with earthy, resinous and floral hops leading to orange marmalade characters. Very similar flavours. Biscuity and bready malt, lots of sweetness followed by resinous hops and marmalade. Carbonation is a little low. Real nice understated English IPA.
