COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A couple of centuries back, IPA was made strong and hoppy to protect it on those long voyages from England to India. These days, we just make it that way because it tastes great.
An intensive five-stage hopping process delivers a rich, robust character, smooth flavour and an inviting aroma. So, while it has all the mighty ‘BAM’ of the original, it’s surprisingly well balanced – a bit like our skateboarding elephant.
Five malted barley varieties, five natural hop varieties, fruity ale yeast and water.

Bottle from Blackhearts&Sparrows. Great, original taste. Aromas of berries, caramel. Taste is sweet, with light tartness, and long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Blonde, with a frothy head.

650ml bottle. Cracker of an IPA. Big bright orange colour with a thin white head that settles to a lacing around the glass. Strong pine and floral hop aroma that fills the nose and sets you up for what is to come. Flavour is very hop forward with a resinous aftertaste on the palate.

UPDATED: SEP 4, 2013 Bottle from Slowbeer (640mL). Slightly hazy light orange colour, very appealing in the glass. Aroma dominated by pine, subtle grapefruit and lavender (maybe, something floral anyway). Really nice hop flavours, balanced by some good malt sweetness, some warmth from the alcohol. Really liking this one. Second helping from a 330mL bottle from Plonk. Same comments, think I enjoyed this one even more.

Pours amber with a fading white head. Nose shows sweet malt, biscuity and bready malt with earthy, resinous and floral hops leading to orange marmalade characters. Very similar flavours. Biscuity and bready malt, lots of sweetness followed by resinous hops and marmalade. Carbonation is a little low. Real nice understated English IPA.

Initial aroma is quite fresh and young with hay, grass and citrus all clouding through. The clolouring is gold much to my surprise I really expected a deeper brown than golden yellow. The head frothy, white foam nothing special but my glass not the best.medium bitterness, very bitter initially but soothes after a few mouthfuls with medium sourness tasting more like a sauv blanc at times, light body, slick feel, wanted more but no. I guess a more modern take on the Australian Ipa compared to the north American ipa. Still quite sessionable enjoyable.

650mL bottle. Pours light golden with a small white head and a very nice tropical fruit/pine aroma. Also have a very nice punch bowl fruity flavour that is well balanced with the bitterness. Very nice beer.
