Bottled: A creditable attempt at a Hefe from an Aussie Micro. Cloudy yellow body with a medium white head. Bublegum, clove with a descrete mention of banana in the nose. Sweet wheaty/bready body with touches of spice and citrus with a good to slightly cloying mouthfeel. As others have noted it possibly swerves on the too sweet side of things - but a good effort overall. I’ll buy it again.

A long over due tasting from Oct’ 2009.
Bottle, into a weissbier glass. Excited and well charged. Bountiful, loose, sudsy white head atop a cloudy, sandy orange body. Wheaty, bready nose with inklings of fairy floss, caramelised strawberry and ripe peaches. Fizzy and overly sweet in the mouth. Licks of raw sugar, caramel, fairy floss, sour lemon citrus and a touch of sour malt. The carbonic bite of this upsets anything else, a few too many swirls to release it and it is still there, bitingly harsh on the swallow. A hint of clove, yeast and bread dough peaks through just as the glass empties. And then it was gone.... (33cL, 05/12/09, Dan Murphy’s Albany)

330 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy amber colour with an oddly thin head. Banana dominated the nose, with the taste bringing more banana plus clove and spice. The spice continues on the palate. Not a bad hefe at all, but doesn’t quite have the oomph of the German ones.

Bottle 330ml. Ugly, but nice nose. Aromas of banana, bubblegum, and also bread. Taste is sweet, with average length. Palate is oily, lively carbonated, and medium bodied. Yellow, with a thin head.

Golden in colour with smallish head. Aroma is lighter in esters and phenolics than a German style Hefeweizen, there is some light banana there but I don’t really pick-up any clove. A good summer beer, more Australian style wheat beer, but not too bad.

Cloudy, all banana & clove. Quite smooth. I’m not a big one for the Hef’s but this is a nice beer.

Bottle. Hazy beer that’s more yellow than orange. Poor head. Aroma has sweet and sour wheat, lemon, banana, cloves. Quite bready but still light. Taste is fruity with some nice wheat and lemon sourness and a decent spicy finish. Solid beer.

Fruity malt hop aroma. Murky yellow borwn colour with good head and lacing. Malt fruit flavour with stone fruit. Fizzy palate.

Slightly hazy straw gold body with short head. Light clove notes on the aroma and hints of banana and off lemon. Taste comes across a little sweet, not very full on though, a wheatbeer but a little boring.

All the right aromas & flavours make this a very good example of the classic German style.
