Draught at Pig N Whistle. Looks okay in the glass with a deep amber to copper colour and a slight head. Malt aroma with some caramel malt flavours. Pretty good and could easily down a few.

Draught at Pig ’N’ Whistle, Brisbane. Amber beer with a medium white head. This IPA has a good malt backbone and pleasant fruity hops and esters coming through on the nose and flavour. I reckon it’s lacking the ’earthiness’ of the English hops I really enjoy in this style but other than that a pretty solid IPA. In fairness the beer is served way too cold which doesn’t really help the cause. Will go back for another pint though!

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2011 Brewed just for Pig and Whistle by Burleigh. Listed as a 5% IPA. First off this is more of a bitter in all departments. Once it warms up, Nose is of English Hops in near copious amounts (for this brewer). Body is malty and moreish with a good bitter finish. Pretty well done and a surprise considering the brewer and the location. Thumbs up, but don’t forget to let it warm up!
