All the flavours come from a few simple ingredients – malted wheat, malted barley, hops and our awesome hefeweizen yeast. To achieve the ‘suntan’ without introducing the astringency or harshness of some roasted malts, we committed absolutely to the wheat theme and used a dark roasted wheat malt to bring the ‘dunkel’ to this beer. Like all wheat beers, the magic of the banana character is in the yeast and easing those flavours out in just the right balance is both the challenge and the thrill of brewing this style of beer.
An autumn version of the Burleigh HEF. Still offering prominent tropical banana notes with the added richness of toasty accents from the dark roasted wheat malt – and boasting a healthy mahogany tan.
