can offering..glad to see some cans from these guys..pours nice with a solid medium dark orange with a boatload of hop particles that are apparent when held up to the light..nose has got some tangerine and nectarine..slight malt on nose with a touch of dankness..medium bodied with some toasted bready character..ok all around but the mouthfeel just seemed slightly lacking...

Poured from growler. To be honest I was a little shocked that this beer was not rated higher. Copper color with an off white head . Aroma is big citrus, tropical fruit, pineapple, and pine resin. Tropical fruit and pineapple up front with a little sweetness followed by citrus. Finishes with grapefruit I rind and pine bitterness. Really nice IPA. Excited to finally try this beer .

Pours a lightly hazy orange/amber with a medium bubbly off white head. Aroma had some caramel and toffee sweetness, nice citrusy and piney hops. Flavor was much of the same. A bit sweet, but also dried out for this 8% beer. Well done DIPA.

Some very complex flavors going on with the hop profile. Big citrus, especially grapefruit, and a strong hop spice bite. Solid.

Appearance: this secret sauce IPA is only available on draft at Burley Oak in Berlin, Maryland. The imperial IPA pour transparent colors of orange, red & brown. The color slightly resembles candied yams on thanksgiving day smothered in secret sauce or the changing of the leaves in the autumn season. There's is a finger width of head but the head quickly dissipates due to the high alcohol. Plenty of carbonation and lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma: earthy, woodsy with a slight burnt or smokey campfire aroma. Also, there's a slight citrus & tropical undertone. Maybe a grilled mango or pineapple aroma. Pine! Pine! Pine with a hint of spruce leaf. Palate: on the front of the palate, sweet flavored malt with a hint of mango or a mellow flavor of puréed carrots. Definitely a lot of bitterness that carries throughout the entire palate. Mid palate is all hops. A woodsy, earthy & smokey characteristics with a hint of mango or tropical fruit coats your tongue and stay dominate throughout the entire experience with each mouthful. The beer finishes dry with flavors of pine & spruce. Food: this imperial IPA/ secret sauce screams spicy food, Asian, Chinese & Mexican cuisine or dessert such as carrot cake. If cheese is your thing. Try a sharp or aged cheddar such as gouda or cabot. *** Allow this imperial IPA to warm up for a few minutes before consumption. The true characters of the beer are released. Only then will you experience the overall liveliness of this handcrafted beer***
