Pours a hazy copper orange with a smaller bubbly off white head that laced. Aroma of peppery and tropical fruit from the Belgian yeast paired nicely with loads of citrusy American hops and hints of white wine from the Nelson. Flavor of citrus and pine, black pepper, mango, pineapple. Hints of toasted malt. I’m a fan of the Belgian IPA style and really liked both the Belgian yeast and hop profile on this one.

Draft at Burley Oak. Pours clear amber with a fizzy creamy white head. Tastes like creamy lemon, some spice, citrus hops. Low/medium body and medium carbonation. Smells like wheat, bread, herbs, lemon citrus.

On tap at Birroteca in Baltimore. This beer was terribly mishandled in the keg. Pour was opaque milky yeast cake. Flavor was yeasty aspirin bitter. I hate giving this a low rating, but the restaurant did not do this beer any favors at all. Unfortunate.

Tap. Pours clear gold with average, creamy white head; decent retention and lacing. Aroma is a good mix of Belgian yeast and floral hops with other notes of candy sugar, cookie malts, spice, light fruit, and grassy notes. Flavor is balanced dry, bready malts and grassy hops with supporting light fruit esters and light floral notes; dry, lightly bitter finish. Medium/full body and low carbonation.

Tap at Max’s. Pours clear orange with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is lime zest, pear, apricot, and mango with citrus hops, straw and biscuit malt. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness with supporting malt and fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
