Good luck in finding this place – a small nook in the South Downs behind the brewery. Our full strength IPA nods to the best I found whilst travelling the US. The result is deceptively drinkable, with a burnt orange colour and full flavour in the mouth. Huge amounts of Simcoe & Centennial hops find their way into the kettle, with even more sneaking in post fermentation for a ‘proper’ IPA flavour.

On tap at BD57, july 31st 2015. Cloudy amber body with a medium white head. Aroma of tropical fruit and caramel malt. Taste starts fruity but turns soapy and a bit chemical, which destroys the experience a bit. Strong not-so pleasant bitterness

On tap at BrewDog Grünerlřkka, Oslo. Hazy amber with an off-white head. Fairly fruity aroma with herbal notes, light citrus and herbs. Medium sweet, hoppy and somewhat ripe fruity flavours with an almost harsh bitterness. Quite tasty IPA.

On tap at Patricks. A hazy, pale golden beer with a dense off-white head. The aroma is a tad malty, with piney, resiny hops. Some citrus peel. The flavour is pretty much the same, with a nice bitterness. Quite malty backdrop. Full body with a nice carbonation. Long malty finish. A bit on the malty side for me this one, still nice. 150723

The top step in a Burning Sky tasting session. Similar restrained aroma but with a sweeter/maltier balance and a more sustained finish.

Light amber, opaque with white head. Pine stronger than citrus in the hops. Good body, lively refreshing carbonation. Good drinkable stuff.
