Originally, the farmhouse brewers of Wallonia would produce a weak Saison beer for the workers and a stronger beer to be aged & sometimes blended – destined for the local taverns. This beer has a primary fermentation with a Saison yeast, then undergoes a secondary fermentation with a blend of Lactobacillus & Brettanomyces. The result is tart, crisp, slightly sour & incredibly refreshing.

A little sour and fresh aroma. The taste is similar. Nothing special really. Dry finish.

Sampled @ Borefts 2014. Pours a murky golden beer with a light white head on top. Aroma has tropical fruits, light peppery sensations. Flavor has some Bretty notes, light bitter and has a decent, medium carbonated mouthfeel. Not much interesting stuff going on here, I’ve had way better saisons, but this is just ok.

In my opinion better in bottle than on tap. A really nice and unique saison for those who appreciate the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at BD ShepBush. Slightly hazy pale gold, head dies. Nose of citrus, yeast spice, light funk. Sweet pale malt, light spice, orange, some hop bitterness, light bretty funk and dry finish. Well attenuated, spritzy. I like this, well done.

On tap at Borefts 2014, Bodegraven Netherlands. Golden yellow color, hazy, no actual head. Aromas of citrus, lemon, orange. Taste was funky a first, with some hay and barnyard character, followed by lemon and citrus. Pretty mild and nice aftertaste. Medium body with medium carbonation.
