This big, strong, unfiltered ale was brewed with seven different malts and copious amounts of Columbia and Amarillo hops pillowed in the middle to give this warming brew a chewy complex malt body and a unique fruity, juicy hoppiness throughout. This special batch was aged in local Big Bottom Whiskey barrels to impart a depth of flavor.

Enjoyed at the brewpub this past weekend... Upfront floral aroma followed by caramel malts... color gold-orange... hoppy up front, malt backbone, solid brew.

On tap at the HAF14. Pours a murky amber color with a medium white head. A big boozy nose with caramel, pine and wood. The flavor comes in more tannic than whiskey, with light vanilla, big wood, some fresh citrus hops, toffee, sugary sweet caramel base. Solid.

Taster at Amnesia Winter Ale Festival. Bold hop profile yet very balanced due to the aging. Nice copper and citrus notes.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2012 On tap @ the brewpub. Pours slightly cloudy reddish amber with thin head. Aroma is heavy oaky malts. Taste is big caramel sweet malts with a syrupy finish. Heavy, strong beer. 8.3% abv is easily apparent. Just a hint of bitterness on the finish. Very drinkable. Nice winter beer - strong and balanced.

Tap @ Holiday Ale Fest... Dark amber/brownish with an off-white head. Lots of malt flavor with some hop bitterness. Full bodied, esters, toffee malt, and a little bit of heat towards the end. Not much going on, the barrel aging seemed immature.
