Sample from firkin at the 6th Annual Rogue Firkin Fest at Green Dragon. Pours a slightly murky orange-straw color with a medium white head that recedes quickly. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, pine and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, toasted malt and caramel. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle:   Orangish in color, faint sediment floats about, thin to moderate white head, frothy, spotty lacing.   Very soft hoppy and pithy nose.   Hoppy start, mild bitterness, lighter sweetness.   Clean, lingering bite.   Seems like a solid example.   Not real aromatic, and not real gushy with flavor, but its clean and presents a straight up hop and citrus like bitterness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Very slight mealy aspect on the finish.   Respectable, even if a little ordinary.

22 oz. bottle. Poured cloudy amber with a white head. Good balance but not as hoppy as other IPA’s from the region. Still an OK beer that I would drink again.

Good beer. Well balanced IPA. Nice color and nice hop aroma. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Bottle from Elizabeth Station, Bellingham, WA
Recently purchased, no BBE on the bottle

Amber color, with medium sized creamy head. Strange aroma, almost phenolic, with some vegetables, hint of stewed cabbage, soil. Creamy caramel and toffee flavor, with moderate sweetness; even stronger presence of boiled vegetables than the aroma of them; cheesy and milky trace; at least the hopping is not impressive but still decent, in quality; strong bitterness and long final, the palate takes a while to adjust to some of its peculiar elements.
This was a weird one!

650ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a huge white head that left me taking 15 minutes to fill my glass. This head retained very well and left some really nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus with some light pine and caramel. Taste is a bold citrus and pine hop bitterness with an underlying caramel malty sweetness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation leaving a light tingle on the palate. A very well done IPA that is definitely up there with my fave IPA’s. Additional note: When I poured another glass to finish the bottle, the head overflowed the glass and I grabbed a cloth to wipe down the outside of glass and my glass exploded in my hands and caused several small cuts on my right hand. I thought some of you may find this amusing.

Draft. Meh, nothing to write home about but very drinkable. NIce piney hop flavor but a little bit astringent or something.

Draught at the brewpub. Grassy, fresh hop aroma, Dark straw color, good lace. Harsh bitter initial; creamy, grassy mid-palate; aftertaste attacks the throats with rough hops. Thin-medium body. Okay. The harshness intrudes a bit. Seems to be almost all bittering hops.

22. Pours a murky burnished medium amber with floaties and a positively incorrigible rocky, bubbly tan head. Just a volcano of activity on the top of the beer. Big piney nose, appealing--kinda smells like Irish Spring a bit. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toast, caramel, pine, and grapefruit on the mid palate, with a big shampoo-y wash on the end. Not bad.
