2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20 Alphadelic (1470) - Portland, USA - JUN 12, 2011
Had this at the Horse Brass blind IPA tasting, Portland, OR - Bright amber. A little orange peel nose. Pretty malty with a whole heap of orange pith flavour. A kind of unpleasant bitterness. Dirty on the tongue but a pleasant, malty cruise down the throat.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 elizabethmarie (12) - - MAY 25, 2012
This is a very good IPA. It is a bit cloudy but has a very light pleasant aroma. It isn’t too bitter and leaves a very pleasant taste.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 crackedmachine (300) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Pours a slightly cloudy pale orange with minimal white head. Aroma is sweet and piny, with cereal notes. Flavor is quite thin: cereal, grain, lightly bitter hops, light hint of citrus, and a grainy finish. Caustic aftertaste. Nothing objectionable here, but not really to my liking.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 boFNjackson (2933) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 25, 2012
Bottle... Poured amber/burnt orange with a huge, thick forming, eggy head. The head remained quite frothy with some lacing on the walls of the glass. Nose had resinous, spicy, earthy hops. Mild, palate, foamy mouthfeel but not over carbonated. Bread-like malt balance, citrus, punchy hops. Low bitterness though. Moderately clean with some dirty, dank hop flavors in the finish.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 beersearcher (1474) - Glendale, California, USA - FEB 28, 2012
Pours a very clear light orange. Aroma is low medium hoppy. First hit is piney and herbal followed by pilsner notes of grain and tin. A mash up of IPA and pils.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Gooney (297) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 4, 2012
22 oz bottle - amber with a bubbly white head (like tapioca). Earthy citrus aroma, not unlike my compost bin. Very interesting malt flavor. Not a hop-water IPA.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 BK7 (302) - Turner, Oregon, USA - DEC 25, 2011
Bomber. Body is a bit thin with some malt flavors but missing the hops. Bitter towards the end, getting stronger at the finish with an odd after taste.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 raphael (665) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 11, 2011
Aroma of lemon, malt, fresh lumber. Head fades quickly, body yellow w/a slight blush. A little flat & thin in the mouth though quite aromatic. Fairly bitter with light citrus and caramel notes. Bitter finish.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 authenticmead (41) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 9, 2011
22oz bottle from Mainbrew.com out in Hillsboro.
Light hazy amber frothy white head.
Citrus, earth, pine and toasty malt nose.
Honey, fresh baked bread, toast citrus and pine palate.
Finally we find a brewery (other than firstone walker) that knows how to ballance an ipa with interesting malts. Highly recommend.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 BrewDad (3686) - Olympia, Washington, USA - JUL 13, 2011
Orange/Amber in color, slight haze with a thin head. Nice hops aroma and bittering flavor. I get lots of floral and fruit from the hops. Nice body with a great dry finish. Very nice IPA from this new place.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 TBone (9414) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 13, 2011
Draught@brewpub (Portland, OR)
Hazy orange color, small white head. Fruity, perfumic, orange jam aroma. Medium-bodied. Citrusy-piney hoppy with some orange marmalade. Solid, but not very exiciting IPA.
