3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Kaffir lime leaf aroma. Med minus body. Flavor is lime, not extreme, with zest and kaffir leaf distingquishable. Pale malt. Ends sort of citrus bitter - leaf and zest build up stronger. Interesting.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. Unclear pale yellow, creamy pillow of white head settles and lasts. Aroma of lime, lemongrass and muted Pilsen malt. Taste is lemongrassy, lime forward, backseat lager malts, some spice and floral notes. Lively carbonation, light bodied, low hopped. Nice enough hot day beer. LF (Lagerboy Friendly)

2.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draft at the source. Very pale hazy yellow. The lime makes an appearances in the aroma, but really cones home to roost in the flavor. Holy cow.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at Burnside Brewing in Portland, OR on 29 May 2013. Poured a lightly hazy golden colour with a medium white head. Floral hop aroma with lime zest and lemon grass. Lime flavours at the forward with citrus hop and bready malt notes. Palate is quite watery with a chemically edge and soda water element.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewpub. Served with a lime alongside. It’s a slightly hazy amber shade with a short white cap. Aroma is unexpectedly complex and fascinating, with a spicy saffron and citrussy character. Taste doesn’t quite live up to that benchmark but it’s a strong effort, with lime meshing well. Far more interesting than I expected.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
650 ml bottle. Pours a hazy gold with light head but lots or carbonation. Aromas of limes and toasted malts. Flavor is heavy on the limes with maybe a bit of a witbier finish. Definitely refreshing so extra points, but in the category of a cooler, not a beer. Kolsch? Maybe as a base but not the result.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a light yellow color. Had more ginger taste to it than lime. The kolsch base was good and it was really quite drinkable. Just wish there was more lime to it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: cloudy buttery yellow with a thick, frothy bright white head that lasts for the duration, leaving spiderwebs of lace; not the typical crystal clear expected from the style, but pretty nonetheless. Aroma: at first, an almost funky level of citrus, like overly sweet lemonade left too long in the sun; a few moments to breathe and warm and the nose brightened considerably, bringing notes of lime, hay, and a bit of cracker. Taste: blast of lime up front, which works with some minerality to really zing around the mouth; this fades quickly, leaving a hint of saltine crackers. Finish: the finish is extremely dry and a little tart, and a wash of lime comes out of the exhale; it’s almost like a sour, but in reverse, with the sourness coming in the end instead of at the beginning. Notes: Unlike any beer I’ve ever had. I love the kolsch style, and this one had at least the palate down perfectly. They weren’t kidding about the limes, they were right in your face. However, while strong up front, they faded nicely after the post-swallow exhale, resulting in a very dry and crisp finish. It was a tad one-dimensional, but for a lime beer, it was exactly as advertised. I’ll also note that they could have made this overly sweet, almost radler-esque, but they didn’t try to balance the tart lime with sweetness, which kept this feeling very light and drinkable. Definite points for uniqueness. My buddy said this would be a perfect beer to drink after mowing the lawn on a hot summer day, and I agree.

A nice and very refreshing beer! Pours an ugly yellow, but smells great, like lime. Lime and wheat in the taste. Great for a hot day. Had on tap at the brewery.
