Cask conditioned handpump Bhurtpore Inn Aston. A copper coloured beer with a tiny off-white ring of head. A grassy hoppy aroma with a bit of fart. Standard bitterness in the mouth. Quite plain and a bit dull.

UPDATED: JUN 29, 2012 On cask at the Scottish Real Ale Festival, 2012. Pours a golden amber colour with a decent white head. Aroma of Weetabix malt, musty yeast, grass and caramel. Similar flavours and a little sweet with mild carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. Quite dry to finish.

[cask at SRAF’11] Hazy light brownish amber, aromas of vaguely sweet malt – almost no hop nose, other than a very slight citrus edge. The taste is very disappointing, the hops just aren’t pushed to the forefront enough, as the woody malts come through and lead into the finish. Doesn’t really taste like an IPA, which is a shame. Having said all that, it’s still drinkable [16062011]

Cask at 2011 Deeside Beer Festival. It pours hazy amber, with a very thin off-white head and low-moderate carbonation. The nose is bread, hay, grass and light citrus hops. The taste is wood, light lemon, lime, soap, metal, astringent and old leather boots, with a bitter-wood finish. A sub-standard IPA..
