COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Burnside Oatmeal Pale Ale is brewed using copious amounts of Crystal, Galena, & Fuggle hop varietals. This is a clean dry Pale Ale with low bitterness and lots of hop flavor. We have chosen to add 75 pounds of locally rolled oats to increase body and give our Pale a sweet creamy finish.

On tap at Burnside, pours a hazy copper golden with a small off-white head. Aroma is nearly non-existent, maybe a bit of biscuity malt. Flavour brings out light oats, soft biscuity malt, and dry hops. Nice use of the oatmeal. Nice balance. Good beer.

"Sweet and very smooth, the oats lending itself well to the feel but otherwise coming up a little short. Ends up being a slightly confused kinda-hoppy beer."

Dull amber, no head, aroma is a bit caramel, bit hoppy, light, touch toasty, mellow amber.

At Burnside Brewing with Taylor, Stephen, Taylor, and Dina. Pours bronze orange with almost no head. Aroma is light earthy hops, malt. Taste is hay, grainy raw barley balanced with earthy hops and hint of spicy hops. The malty hay backbone is the champion of the profile, and the hops play a party, but it doesn’t quite come together for me.

On tap at the brewpub. Pour is clear orange with a frothy white head and great lacing. Lemon rind, orange peel, biscuit, dough, and grapefruit in the aroma. Taste is grapefruits, fruit rind, biscuit, bread, grass, and lemons with a medium bitter finish. Light body with high carbonation. Decent pale ale but could benefit from added body.

Dry and earthy taste. Not a fan. Wouldn't want a full pint but the sample was ok. Orange and clear. Had this in draft as part of a flight at Burnside Brewing in Portland.

The oatmeal really smoothes out this beer, adding body and diminishing the hops kick. Pours dark amber with an abundant, high fluffy head, lacing sticks to the glass in clumps. Aroma of caramel and malt, taste is malt, oatmeal, toffee, with a touch of hops bitterness. Nice thick, chewy body, and mildly sweet and dry finish. Nice!

I don’t really taste the oatmeal in this beer. Still, it is very good, for an IPA.

Bomber. Pours golden orange with a nice fluffy white head. Aroma of citrus, grass, and grain. Taste is lemon, grass, malt, and grain. Decent.

5 oz sample. Nice copper color. Smooth tasting beer with caramel notes and grassy notes. Light body. Average carbonation. Crisp. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
