Single hop rye ale with coriander

Our Spring seasonal, brewed with 45% Roggenmalz (German Rye), coriander and Ultra hops from the Willamette Valley. Slight nuttiness from the rye is balanced with undertones of fresh spice, berries, nuts and tropical fruits flavors created by the heavy additions of Ultra hops and coriander.

Very dense & thick yellowish head over hazy orange beer. Incisively spicy nose - noteably coriander, but also other (pepper, Sezchuan, kaffir lime...)Hops quite present as well. Coriander to the detriment of most other flavours. Obvious hopresins giving lots of bitterness, pine, heather. Oily-slick, some astringency, rather well bodied, good carbonation. Oh well. Some people can’t get enough of it, it would seem.

Bomber. Clear bright orange yellow, lasting firm fine white foam. Mild toasted rye malt aroma. Leaner spicy rye malt taste, herbal, citric, clean. Average carbonation, light-medium bodied, moderately hopped. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2015 Balanced combination of malts and hops with a coriander/citrus touch. Grassy notes finish, multiple flavors. Interesting beer if not exactly great.

Butelka 60cl. Sporo nut drożdżowych a w tle chmiele amerykańskie.

Yellow amber. Soft head. Quiet scent. Very rye, nice coriander and a fair yeast note. First sip is sharp but hard to place the source. Sharp note softens and beer grows on you through the glass.

650ml bomber pours a hazy pale golden color with a finger of white head that settles to reveal only a few spots of lacing. Aroma is coriander spice and lemon with some spicy rye grain. Taste is mild rye and coriander spiciness with a bit of lemon tartness and a fruity malty sweetness. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. This is certainly not one of Burnside’s better offerings. Although, this is an interesting brew, it is not suited to my tastes.

[2/24/15] Draught at Burnside Brewing in Portland. Clear golden. Aroma of coriander and some spicy rye. Sweetish flavor, spicy, with rye, coriander, a fruity touch, and a decent bitterish finish. Medium-bodied.
