Supper hoppy high gravity palate pleaser for the IPA afficianado. Another BHB triumph!

Drinking with Westmeister at the Brick Store. This beer poured a slightly hazy orange brown with a decent sized head. Smells of citrus fruit. This beer’s sweet malt backbone was not strong enough to balance the hops. Carbonation was a bit less than ideal. A good beer and another strong offering from Burnt Hickory. Draft - Brick Store - Decatur, GA

16oz growler, served at around 45F. Kegged in November 2012 if memory serves.

Pours cloudy amber with a two finger off-white head that leaves nice rings of lacing and recedes to a light cap.

Aroma is oranges, orange marmalade, citrusy hops, melon, caramel malt, a hint belgian-y. Good strength.

Flavor is orange marmalade, melon, fruity hops, decent bit of caramel malt with some sweetness, average bitterness, light alcohol.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, oily, good carbonation.

Strikingly similar to the Ezekiel’s Wheel...almost makes me wonder if it is Ezekiel’s, but the keg is marked as Cannon Dragger. Lots of fruity hops and almost a Belgian character. Pretty good, but awfully expensive for what it is. I know they’re an upstart, but their pricing is pretty extreme.

Aroma is seriously hoppy - boing boing boing! Pours a nice, somewhat hazy amber with a thick off-white head. Flavor has strong hoppy note with hints of honey and fruit. Texture is firm and smooth with lots of fizz and liveliness. If you like hoppy beers, look for this one next time you are in the Atlanta area.

On tap. Pours a hazy orange with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has some light citrus and orange peel with an underlying sweet grain note. Flavor starts with some sweet citrus and orange peel with just a hint of bitter citrus that comes out in the finish.

On tap at Taco Mac Kennesaw. Oversized wine glass. Poured a deep orange with minimal white head and great lacing. Aroma is sweet citrus with a hint of peach. Taste is nice sweet hops with a tiny hint of bitterness (but not overpowering). Palate is pretty standard IPA. Great IPA that might be the best local.

ty tonight at a tasting. Solid IPA would order it / buy it anywhere around ATL Too strong for more than two in a sitting. Nose very citrus back end bitter but not palate wrecker. ABV is high but not overpowering. Probably order over any other local IPA

Appearance: Served up a well-hazed, medium amber-hued body with a medium-small, creamyish, off-white head.

Smell: Initially, a sniff of caramel squares, then, inviting citrus hop notes, florals, some stern-looking resins, and, then, another closing hint of caramel.

Taste: Sweetish, malty caramel flavor propped up by toasted grains joined by resinous floral tones and pithy citrus accents hinting at times of lemon, at times of grapefruit. Moderate bitterness. Mild alcohol presence. A bit more caramel prior to the bittersweet, citrus-hinted finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Fairly smooth.

Overall: Good stuff! There are some shades of DFH 90 Minute here, I feel.
