Cask, at Newark Beer Festival, May 2004. Very dark brown with a red tinge. Plenty of roast malt and a hint of sour fruit. Also some unexpected sharp hops as this was billed as a mild. More presence, and a bit more alcohol, than most milds. Seems to sit somewhere between a mild and a porter in style. A pretty decent brew whatever it is.

Cask Stillage at the Victoria Leisure Centre, Nottingham 16/10/2003 Black and smooth on the palate. Slight fruitiness and a burnt roast finish.
