Sampled at the farm. Unlike some of the sweeter ciders this has not been sweetened artificially. The rich apple aromas with subtle spice notes and toffeish qualities in a way obscure the challenging qualities which really make cider special.

RBESG August 2011, Southampton Arms. Cloudy golden with a small white head. Weak apple aroma with a hint of wood. Dry apple flavour with a touch of butterscotch. Slightly tannic bitter finish

Cask @ Southampton Arms, London. RBESG 2011. Pours clear golden with a small off white head. Crispy!! Red apples and a bit of barnyard. Really dry.

On cask at Southampton Arms - August 19, 2011. Light gold, hazy, not much head, still-looking. Aroma of tart, almost sour apple - like an acidic candy apple. Really like that taste - sweeter, but funky and acidic enough to carry it - a nice sweet/sour balance (6+). Average body, light acidity and carbonation, leaves a tart, funky finish - I liked it more than I thought I would.

Light unclear medium orange yellow colour with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy apple, light barnyard. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light light acidic with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20101231]

Cask@The Southampton Arms. Slightly hazy golden colour, no head. Aroma is dry apple, earth, mild cheesy notes as well as some herbs and mild tartness. Flavour is sweet, but dry apple along with some wooden and mild cheesy notes.

A Mes rate. Cask at the Southampton Arms.
Hazy yellow brown colour. A really good, fruity medium cider. perfect level of sweetness, balanced really well with a perfect level of dryness. Edging more towards dry than sweet. Epic apples. About as close to biting into an apple as any cider I’ve ever had. Excellent drying finish. Brilliant stuff.

Golden coloured with a slightly hazy appearance. Fruit aroma. Slightly dry bitter finish.
2. Cask Handpump at the Southampton Arms, Kentish Town 01/08/2010 (As Medium Farmhouse Cider)
Fruity aroma. Golden coloured a little rich on the palate and fruity with a dry tannin finish.
