Miksu (2187), Jyväskylä, Finland Feb 18, 2009 Cask (actually from a canister) at Black Door, Helsinki, sold as Burrow Hill Farmhouse Cider 6%. Pale copper color, no head. Perfumed apple aroma with hint of sulphur. Soft juicy and woody apple flavor with notes of pineapple. Tasty and drinkable. hughie (3016), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Jun 18, 2007 Golden. Aroma of sweet and gentle fruit, as is the taste, which adds some sourness. So far so good. The finish I thought was less impressive: a more cloying sweetness seems to hang in the throat, together with a hard, unnatural dryness. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Jun 18, 2007 Bottle (from Tesco). Fruity apple sweetness with woody tannin in the finish. Not a lot of acidity but the tannin helps to take the edge of the sweetness. Seems slightly sterile compared to the dry offering but quite pleasant especially when compared to a lot of the supermarket offerings. leaparsons (4659), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Jun 7, 2007 Bottle. Light gold with light carbonation. Aromas are light apple juice with lemon. Quite dry with some woody notes. Quite zesty. Flavours are dry, sour apple with a dry woody finish. Good carbonation. The dry finish is a bit artificial. Does cider really need 11 varieties of apple? Fin (3382), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Jun 3, 2007 Bottlr from Tesco, Evesham 29-05-07. Despite the name informing you that it was farm pressed this cider actually had a real farmyardy smell, which was great. Had a lovely taste that for me was a very well balanced medium dry cider nice appley bite, really moreish and very refreshing.
