Cask - White Cliffs Festival 2010, Dover. Poured a ruddy chestnut colour with a fine head and low body carbonation. Toffee and demerara sugar aromas with a slight sour bite. A light berry fruitiness with a dry and deep bitterness and yeast character. A pleasant, rounded bittersweet finish, soft in the mouth with a light to medium sting from the carbonation.

Cask at burton bridge inn fruity, sweet, lots of malt, not much hop character, more like a strong mild than an esb but very quaffable.

Cask at the Burton Bridge brewpub, Burton-On-Trent. Pours dark orange with a small head. Aroma is musty apples with some dirty grain underneath. Taste is earthy, citrusy and grainy.

Cask at Get Real NY 2011. Amber pour - kind of watery aroma. Not a whole lot of malt character. A bit of light oxidation as well. Thin-bodied and lacking in hoppiness as well. I was hoping for so much more from this but it’s pretty bland.

A dark amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, chalky and grassy, lager like. In mouth, a nutty malt with with very European hopping, saaz hops, Golding, no citrus or floral qualities, dryer than expected. Cask at Get Real NY, March 19th 2011.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2011 Cask at the Number Twenty-2, Darlington, as Burton Bridge Burton Ale, but I assume this is the same beer. Copper colour, creamy off-white head. Malty aroma and flavour, nutty and biscuity notes. The aroma also has some fruity notes. Tolerably well hopped finish.

#3700 it turns out, and more than worthy. Right, I’m wading in with a 4.1 for this one- it’s a hedonistic scale, right? Handsome, slim-necked bottle. Fogged copper bright with fizz under a fine, undulating collar. Top aroma for an English- full-on yeast and spice; Bazooka chews, apples mouldering in a cellar, vanilla pod, horses, cinnamon. Flavour is great; sweet, earthy and spicy with a yeasty, apple peel bite of dryness like the cloudy ciders I drink when I get bored at festivals, but am not allowed to rate. Shades of Lindeman’s Pomme also. There seriously must be some apples in this...but I just can’t tell. Mixed up, mulled. Very festive. Soil, apple peel, bramley apple pie filling and custard.. clean, but on the edge. BB have excelled themselves with this one. Beer of Christmas So Far.

Cask. Aroma is a mild spice and terrific malt, dark copper, small firm custard head, and some fine lace. Flavour is a mild malt, and a good quantity of candy. Light bodied, very well balanced, sweet, yet bitter, remarkebly easy drinking. Wonderful!

Cask at Gallows XIII Real Ale Fest. Clear, dark ruby body, slightly salt taste with a bitter finish. Mouthfeel is creamy yet watery, aromas have maple suryp, caramel, coffee and pepper.
