Weird, weird mix. Fruity, Red Berries, Black Currants, then some Coffee, and then some chocolate. Has light touches of tea also. Very thin, not the best.

Appearance: Clear dark brown color with a frothy tan head. Light lacing.
Aroma: Slightly sweet and mild fruity, caramel malty and light roasted malt.
Palate: Medium (light) body. A bit sweet and a light bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Mild sweetness. Roasted malt, caramel malty and some fruity notes.
Overall impression: Unusual porter. Not to far from a standard British bitter.

500ml bottle - Dark brown, frothy tan head. Nice colour. Roasted grains, bitter-sweet chocolate, cocoa powder. Straightforward, simple, a bit too grainy. Medium to medium/light body, just a bit smoother than balanced. Not bad.

50cl bottle. Pours a muddy chocolate brown with very little head. Nose of raisins, dried malt bread. Taste of malt loaf, very dry raisins. Palate is medium bodied with a tangy middle and a drying finish. Overall, slightly disappointing when you consider it to be a Christmas beer but maybe alright on cask..

On cask at the Clarendon, Leicester. Very dark brown with off white head. Aroma quite subtle but nice sweet roasty smell. Nice and smooth with subtle taste at first but nice bitter fruit on aftertaste. I like this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours in beautiful dark brown, slightly reddish color with 1cm beige head. Aroma is just slightly roasty, not much to smell. Taste is smooth and mild, mostly reminds me a common pale ale from the same brewery. There are all similar notes - caramel sweets, lolipops and herbs. So the only difference is the slightly roasty aftertaste. Well, it's definitely a good ale, could recommend it, but just have in mind that it wont taste like a common porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
