A Mes rate: Bottle from Utobeer. Serious let down. Looks great, Black / brown, huge creamy tan head but sadly it settled all too quickly and was a sign of impendineg mediocrity. Am I mad or does this taste of very little else other than apple peel? There is possibly a very very slight hint of malt and yeast. Flavour is absolutely identical. As is the finish. Fantastic it is not.

Bottle, bought @ The Cockney, Aarhus.
Pours deep black with no head - just some bubbles along the rim of my glass. Aroma is mild, lightly sweet roasted, some weak coffee. Medium to low carbonation - a bit thin still. Super-dry flavour, good coffee, some cocoa. A bit unbalanced, but an okay beer.

Relatively pale brown with a huge mountainous rocky light brown head. Big sniff full of chocolate, earthy nuances (almost sausage salty/smoky at times). Dry in mouth, more chocolate, slightly vinous peaks, dark fruits which are hard to identify, but I,'ll go with grapes/currant/apricot as it was vinous. Asertive bitter finish. Less carbonated texture than I thought from the visual, thin-medium bodied. Well made although maybe a tad too citric tart which is a characteristic I seem to have difficulties with when combined with any serious roastiness. I so want to try their IPA. Cheers Todd!

Very intresting beer here, not like a normal porter, maybe more like i imagine it used to be, when beer was made about 200 years ago. Aroma has some sweetness, maybe some apples and dustyness? Taste has soem roasted malts, some darker fruits kicking in too, a little pale sherry character. Seems a bit old, use by date is 03/06 and its 02/06 so maybe this contributes, very intresting.

Bottle: Pours opaque with dark brown edges and an airy, nicely-lacing tan head. Sweet malty aroma has some caramel and roasted malt along with some earthy hops. Body starts with lots of carbonation that sort of masks the sweetness turning more earthy and dry toward the dark caramel bittersweet finish. Has some slightly metallic character to it as well. Would be better if it had more of a sweet creaminess.

never had a porter like this before. Nose is chocolatey, sour and winey. Ditto for the palate, throw a bit of berries in their and some roastyness and you have a very intersting beer, tastes almost Belgian (i.e belgian sour ale), dry and sour, might not taste like your average porter, but it still tastes nice.

Bottle Conditioned, aged 2 yrs+. A deep maroon red colour with yeasty brown head. Fruity nose, plums?. Sweet plus dry malt flavour with more friut, still plums and blackberry. Then dry bitterness almost chalky. Left me wanting more.
