Very dark brown color, small off-white head. Slightly roasted and nutty aroma. Sticky hoppy, roasted coffeish flavor. Long bitter aftertaste. Light palate. A bit too attacking.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 20, 2008 Pours a faintly hazy deep brown to slightly burgundy colour with a thick, long-lasting tan head. Nose is faint, very slightly hoppy with just a hint of sweet roasty malt. Flavour isn’t quite very porter-like. It’s a little bit too watery, and slightly overbalanced towards the hoppy side of things. Not enough malts in the mouth, what is there is good, roasty and nice. Mouthfeel is smooth, but a little watery. Flyer (118), Hartland, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 3, 2007 Pours opaque brown-black, with purplish highlights. Virtually no head. Aroma of port wine and grapes. I was disappointed in this beer at first, because it certainly didn’t fit my expectations of a porter, and I was expecting something "bigger." But it grew on me a little bit. It has a mildly sharp sweetness up front, with that nice ale mustiness hitting the back of the palate. It tasted almost like a tart tripel, though it drinks something like a wine. It’s not traditionally malty, and not very hoppy. Not great, but enjoyable in its own way. adrian910ss (1445), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Faint aroma of roasted malts and bitter chocolate. Taste is carbonated with faint roasted malty hints and weak coffee beans. Very weak and not much flavor. Bottle from Utobeer. Serious let down. Looks great, Black / brown, huge creamy tan head but sadly it settled all too quickly and was a sign of impendineg mediocrity. Am I mad or does this taste of very little else other than apple peel? There is possibly a very very slight hint of malt and yeast. Flavour is absolutely identical. As is the finish. Fantastic it is not. Hansen (2357), Randers, Denmark
