never had a porter like this before. Nose is chocolatey, sour and winey. Ditto for the palate, throw a bit of berries in their and some roastyness and you have a very intersting beer, tastes almost Belgian (i.e belgian sour ale), dry and sour, might not taste like your average porter, but it still tastes nice.

cask at burton bridge inn fruity nose but has that hint of sourness I look for in a decent porter. Complex malt background and good bittermess too...nice.

500ml bottle. Disappointed in this. Low flavour and watery mouthfeel. Slight sulphury taste the only redeeming factor. Preferred Bramble Stout by the same brewery.

50 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via Beer Ritz Leeds. Festive Christmas Porter label. Deep brown cola colour, fruity aroma, black cherry and molasses. Semi sweet flavour, vanilla and coffee, then more sweetness and a bitter hit at the end.

500ml bottle, as Festive. Pours a very dark brown with a thin head. Aroma is woody, sour dark fruits. Taste is a little watery, dark fruits to start, some sour fruit on the finish. Barely any carbonation.

olio (1530) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 2, 2011
50 cl bottle @ Kahdet Kasvot, Tampere.
Pours murky red colour with medium head. Aroma of cherries, berries, malts, grass and stomach acid. Flavour of berries like strawberry and bilberries, mild malts, ripe fruits and vegetables. Quite repulsive to be honest, the berryness is too dominating for a watery palate like this.

I actually managed to rate the alias before. A new bottle, just as bad as befone. Tastes like stale real rinsed in dirty dishes. What were they drinking when they thought this is good?

In bottle as Festive Christmas Porter. Pours a slighty hazy, deep ruby colour with a thin tan head. Yeast, apple seed and alcohol nose. Some roasty malt flavour with apple seed and alcohol again. Moderate carbonation and CO2 prickle. Not my thing.
