Gold Medal Ales are produced monthly in recognition of some of the ’greats’ of history. This month’s story :-
On August 25th 1974 Mary Connors hoped to make a flying start on breaking the English human cannonball distance record across the River Avon. Confident of success, Mary had taken extra swimming lessons and she certainly needed them when her attempt fell flat. Events then turned to farce when the two men in the rescue boat capsized and joined her in the water. In spite of her courage and bravery, slim Mary was obviously not of the right calibre.

Colour: Amber with a reddish tinge
Nose: Malty
Taste: Well bittered after taste
