COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special (Gold Medal Ale series) - July 2010.

Gold Medal Ales are produced monthly in recognition of some of the ’greats’ of history. This month’s story :-
Lady Godiva, had for years begged her husband, The Earl of Mercia, to reduce his punitive taxes on the citizens of Coventry. In exasperation he agreed to do so, if she would ride naked through the town. To his surprise she took on the challenge and rode out on the 10th July 1040. All the good people of Coventry agreed not to look. Peeping Tom, a tailor, did however look through a hole in his shutter, only to be instantly struck blind.

Colour: Pale straw
Nose: Fresh zesty
Taste: Clean citrus
Hops: Cascade & Jane

Cask handpull, The Wellington, Birmingham. Here I am in Brum drinking a beer brewed in Staffordshire, commemorating the proud industrial heritage of my home town, Coventry. Something has gone seriously wrong somewhere. Gold, thin white top. Boiled sweet aroma, mouldy apples in a cellar. Beanspout dankness, damp green apples. Where’s the Amarillo and Jane? Wrong.
